Quality time.

I live just a stone's throw away from the mighty yellows, Norwich’s football club.

I often find myself staring out of our apartment window, watching the day-to-day hubbub at the ground. It’s such a busy operation and so much more than a football club.

Bobby and I regularly go to the Comedy Club, business events, concerts and sporting appearances.

I’m a tomboy and was an avid footballer (in my prime) as was my dad. There’s something special about being at a football ground. When I lived in Essex, my dad would say we’re going to church when we went to watch our beloved Spurs at White Hart Lane.

Attending events and overlooking the pitch just makes everything that bit more exciting.

Now a parent myself, I don’t have as much spare time, even less for my parents. I made a decision this year, rather than buy presents for each other for special occasions we’d do something just the two of us.

So, for this year’s Father’s Day, I thought I’d get the sporting obsessed man, a three course dinner with me, and, a chance to meet and hear from the legendary Sir Clive Woodward.

The only England manager who has lifted the rugby world cup!

We were greeted by a champagne drinks reception where we enjoyed the views across the hallowed turf. Actually, the turf was covered in anticipation of Take That, who are appearing this week (I’m hoping to still get tickets!).

We mustered up the confidence to get a photo with the legend, and the man himself before moving onto dinner.

Dinner was interspersed with Sir Clive, regaling us on his triumphs and anecdotes, which, were as you would imagine, incredibly inspiring.

We enjoyed potted crab starter, followed by local Archer’s sausages and strawberry cheesecake desert. We also polished off a bottle of red.

The evening went by in haze of laughter. I vowed to my dad, I’d make time in my busy schedule to spend more quality time together, just us. Thank you Delia’s at Norwich City Football Club for a wonderfully hospitable evening.

You can’t beat good food and even better company.
