Studio Inn – our new home.

We got the keys for Studio Inn on 1st November and we opened the doors after just three weeks of frantic transformation.

Water Cabin – Habitat's Coolest Habitat.

In May 2018, I received an email from Habitat, they wanted to feature me/us as part of their series 'Today's coolest habitats.'

Wabi-sabi for the Water Cabin.

Wabi-sabi is the celebration of the imperfection. Given the very nature of the cabin – a humble timber-built 1930's structure – this felt like the most appropriate, sensitive and gentle approach to the interior design.

Week 13. Going backwards to go forwards.

Over the last 13 weeks I’ve been documenting in still and moving images the progress of the work at the Water Cabin. My intention is to produce a short video showing the various stages of the build and the journey we've taken.

Stanley turned 5 in March and, as a little boy emerges, I wave goodbye to the pre-schooler and his associated toys. In his place, I welcome in a curious little boy with a huge appetite for learning...

We’d coveted our apartment for several years before it came on the market and we finally had the chance to buy it. We fell in love with the light. Our apartment is one of seven penthouses in a converted factory – our space, specifically, was the drawing rooms.

Stockholm – living like locals.

Staycation.

Eight years ago today, Bobby and I officially became an ‘item’. Traditionally, we’d celebrate our anniversary by exploring a new city (Barcelona, Amsterdam and Oslo to name a few). Enter into the frame Stanley (in 2013) and our anniversaries took on an entirely different look and feel. For the first few years, we stayed in Norwich and celebrated with a meal out. So, sticking to my new year’s resolution – to embrace life and enjoy more time as a family, we decided we’d opt for a staycation. So, when Bobby mentioned a friend had an Eco Barn in Winterton (our favourite Norfolk beach), our minds were made up.

This year I have been reading…

I’m a curious person by nature. I love meeting new people and understanding how things work. Books feed this appetite. I tend to prefer fact over fiction and, this year, several books have really helped me with both my personal and professional journey. Whilst some have inspired, others have allowed escapism and some have actually channelled my focus.Here are some of my favourites.
