The Big A Tee (Nor-Folk x Adnams).
Fiona and I were cuddled up on the sofa – it was a Friday night – we were likely enjoying a fruit cider and watching a dark Nordic crime thriller. Anyway, the details don’t really matter – the best bit was that my phone lit up with a DM on Instagram. ‘A lady called Liz from Adnams’ I said – ‘she wants to chat about a collaborative project’.
It was killing us all weekend, wondering what it might be about. After much speculation, we spoke with Liz on the Monday and she explained how Adnams wanted to collaborate with us on the creation of a small capsule collection – designed by Nor–Folk.
First of all, we spent the day in sunny Southwold, being shown around and generally treated like royalty. My favourite part was the brewery tour – it was so interesting and, of course, it was followed by a tasting session!
After a couple of meetings, we returned to Southwold, armed with a range of ideas and suggestions on how we might create some new clothing products – starting off with some t-shirts and polo shirts. We narrowed the concepts down to a few favourites and set about creating artwork and briefing production.
The first of our creations to drop is the ‘Big A Tee’. We wanted to be mindful of Adnams’ heritage and brand values but, at the same time, inject an element of Nor–Folk’s own paired-back aesthetic. In the end, this particular design stood out to perfectly meet the brief. It’s fair to say that our passion for typography and minimalism influenced the end product.
Fiona and I have had so much fun working on this project. Not only is Adnams an awesome brand – the people behind it are equally brilliant. We’re so thankful for this opportunity.
The Big A Tee is available to purchase now in the Adnams shop.
